Deadly Digs at The Make Den

Photobucket
Finally... After 8 months working and teaching in the cozy little basement at 1207, it was time to take the studio up a notch or two with an awesome new space. The renovations are nearly done, and now we've got big windows, tiffany blue (aka seafoam) walls, new floors and machines and a great patio. The thing I like best about the new studio is that you can reach everything you could ever need to sew with - from any machine. I make no secret of my excitement when I'm teaching. Thread? Why, it's right here mounted on pegboards in easy reach above the machines. Snips? Stuck to the magnets under the pegboard. Scissors and seam-rippers? In cups mounted on the wall. Rolls of elastic and bias tape are mounted on rods to be unrolled as needed. All without moving an inch. Perhaps it's just laziness, but I like to think of it as efficiency. It's just nice to have a place for everything.
Oh! And we'll be serving hot chocolate and baking cookies until midnight for a pre-nuit blanche party on Oct 2nd if anyone would like to come - I'll be there around 9pm with my cherry apron on!

DNS & SUNNYD

Every one once in a while the DNS ladies come across other super positive, powerful, driven women who love bicycles and the arts. Not often though are they tight, talented rapper's who win almost all the alley cats that they enter. When Sunny D asked if I would do some promo photo's for her I was honoured. Of course I called on my favourite stylist BIG RED, my friends who own ladder's and my manager Kyle K ( who lent me his studio space) to make some "HOT PHOTOGRAPHY". The legs are provided by some great friends who are always down to help (J.Rose, MaMa Jess, Cannibal Vixen, Rachel W & Chanel)

SHOES!!!

A few weeks ago I shot for Hells Belles and Bordello shoes. I have to say these shoes are the most bad ass beautiful shoes. Only thing Bordello ya' think you could make some sustainable ones in seafoam for us Nightshades.

Working again with the wonderful collective Powder, Pins and Pearls. Stay tuned for their next event on Oct 2nd, 2010 and Nyood "Fashion and Sport".

p.s Spot the tiny bit of Seafoam I just had to add!

PUMA+TIFF+SNOW WHITE

A few weeks ago at Western Themed Fake Prom I ran into my dear friend Chris DeCastro and he asked me ever so nicely to come participate in the PUMA+TIFF shoot happening in his space. 10 local up and coming commercial photographer's (Felix Wong, David Gillespie etc) were asked to participate and play paparazzi for an instillation out front the Avenue and Bloor PUMA store. It's up now! Thanks PUMA for the free gear!

Go check it out. Take a pick of yourself kissing me or something.
