SNOW WHITE & PUMA & THREE THIRDS

Check out our talented Snow White in the installation of young up & coming photographers at the Puma Flagship Store during last years Toronto International Film Festival. This video by Chris de Castro captures it pretty nicely. I didn't know it could be possible, but sometimes I think she's an even bigger babe behind the lens.

And because we're on the note of Mr. de Castro - check out this awesome promo video he did for Three Thirds - who've got some pretty rad messenger bags I might add.

Happy Birthday David Susuki!!!!

David Susuki celebrates his 75th birthday today!!!

I love David. He's my hero. In 2007, I was honoured to "open" for David Susuki when we produced Flourish, the Ryerson's Eco-Fashion show that ran at the first Green Living Show in Toronto. This was the first show where Feirce Bambi, Cannibal vixen and I all worked together. Our presentation on Saturday was just before David's speech. It was amazing. Not only did Irene and I get to meet David Susuki, I got to help David by helping him find his coat backstage. I gave back to him after he has given so much! I wish I could do more.

Jonathan Laba (DJ), Meaghan Orlinski (Producer), David Freaking Susuki, Irene Stickney (Designer), Lauren Barless (Graphic Designer).

I also had to kick him out of our backstage area- I know you are David Susuki Mr. Susuki- but you can't go back there- our models may be changing!

And now... a David Susuki Cowichan Sweater. I know! You're welcome.

Big weekend! We celebrated the birth of Cannibal Vixen (for days on end), Meg-OH! returned to Toronto...... AND we completed stage 1 of 2 on our top secret project!!!!

Obviously this called for some Bambino behind the Make Den in celebration.

All we were missing was Namtron. xoxo ladies.

Shine On

After being back home in Toronto for a week, I am stunned sometimes by the caliber of women I know. Then I think of the women I hang out with in Vancouver and I get the same smile on my face.

Lovelovelove... xo

BIKE LEGS: THE RETURN OF THE DANCE-OFFS!

Photobucket
Remember the Dance-Offs? Those long ago nights when The Nightshades were not yet in existence, but we all still hung out. Those nights of shaving cream. Salmon spandex judges outfits. Roller girls. Robot costumes. Roping off areas on the dance floors at other people's parties to break out rehearsed or unrehearsed dance routines.

Well, good news - Because the Dance-offs are BACK!!!

So bring your best moves, and sexy sexy bike legs to our Dance Party Dance-Off Extravaganza! Awesome prizes from Knog & homemade trophy for the best routine... and maybe best bike legs.

Or just come dance your face off.

THURS. MARCH 31ST
Feat. Ghetto Cyborg & DJ Desk Jockey.

LADIES ARMY III.

Photobucket
Booking my flight home from Texas today! But, any suggestions on getting from Dallas to Austin with my bike for this? Carpool anyone? I can promise witty banter & mix tapes for the ride.

Also, clearly the Nightshades were meant to be at this tournament. Check out that colour scheme.

TOP SECRET FAIL.

Photobucket
do you know what's the worst?

1. Staying at the studio allll day & waaay too late.
2. Paying subway fare through the turnstyle entrance to go home.
3. Missing the last train of the night.
4. Begging for an "emergency transfer" for the night bus that never runs.
5. Waiting in the cold for the bus.

6. ....THEN REMEMBERING YOU BIKED OVER TO THE STUDIO THAT MORNING, and your bike is locked up right beside you.

FAIL.

7. Then just deciding to go back the to studio and work more. Thus, a late night became an all nighter.

But in good news.... THE TOP SECRET DNS PROJECT IS ALMOST DONE! Big reveal in two weeks? You betcha.

Fashion Cemetary

I've been doing work for Eco Fashion World and Pedaler Clothing. Through this work, I've been researching a hellalot of eco and bike brands and the various stores that carry them. It's sad, but sometime you do some research only to figure out through clicking that the brand hasn't released a collection in a few seasons, and isn't available online anywhere.... while it doesn't say 86ed it on the website, you come to your own conclusions.

Makes me wonder why brands don't announce they are closing? Hopeful they will resurrect themselves the next season? Can't pay their web developer? Joined a cult and moved away to a remote island where they swore off all technology?

C.H.U.N.K. 666 is a rad collective of tall-bike/bike polo/punks that put out a rad line of bike-polo shirts a few years ago... and I would like to give them the prize for "BEST USE OF R.I.P. WEBSITE."

Go here to see why I think this.
